​The Owners Message

​As an ESE Teacher, it has become painfully apparent over the years how few options students have to live a fulfilling and independent life that includes long term employment. State and Federal agencies can provide assistance to this population, but this often continues a pattern of dependence between the individual with a disability and the government (and the tax payer). It is the firm belief of Dandelion House that with the appropriate training and experience, individuals with a range of disabilities can develop competitive skills to provide them the opportunity to achieve the life they have a right to live—one of meaning and relevance within their community. This type of opportunity does not currently exist in our community, and I hope to make Jacksonville a model for other areas looking to have a more inclusive workforce. 



The Future…

Someday, in addition to our partnerships with businesses, we hope to find Dandelion House a physical home. There, we could provide workshops, intensive pre-employment training, and events for the community. Help us make this dream a reality here in Jacksonville!
